ATV Quads full-day expedition: the most beautiful viewpoints of the Tara Canyon, photo safari, 'Zlatni Bor' cheese farm

Breakfast is served around 9 AM with traditional specialties of this region that you will hardly find anywhere else. Homemade prosciutto, hot fried dough bites with kajmak, and traditional bread baked under the bell are some of the local delicacies awaiting you here.

After breakfast, we depart with our ATV quad vehicles, accompanied by a guide, toward the right rim of the highest part of Europe's largest and deepest canyon, the Tara Canyon.

The exciting four-wheel ride continues toward Meštrevac, the mountains of Ljubišnja and Vranovina, along the dramatic right rim of the Tara Canyon. We pass through unique landscapes and mountain villages, unforgettable in their beauty.

The ATV ride lasts approximately 2-3 hours, reaching the highest cliffs of the Tara River canyon, with several stops at scenic viewpoints and mountain springs for refreshment. We arrive at a rural cheese farm located right on the edge of the canyon, known as Zlatni Bor.

Here we spend time exploring the canyon area with our powerful ATVs, walking, and visiting breathtaking viewpoints. Lunch is served directly on the canyon rim - prepared in nature using traditional ingredients from this region.

This area lies at an altitude of over 1500 meters, where the Tara Canyon cuts deeply through the mountains, creating spectacular panoramic views of the deepest part of the canyon. From this viewpoint, you can also see the Sušica Canyon, the entire Durmitor National Park, and across almost the whole of Montenegro, all the way to the Komovi mountains on one side, and across old Herzegovina to Treskavica on the other.

Looking in another direction, you can see Maglić, Piva Mountain, Zelengora, Volujak, Vučevo, and almost the entire Sutjeska National Park.

From Zlatni Bor, you can clearly see Šćepan Polje, the place where the rivers Tara and Piva meet to form the Drina River. The view also extends toward the medieval town of Soko, the summer residence of the Serbian medieval ruler Herceg Šćepan Kosača, who held the title “Herceg of Saint Sava,” after whom the entire region of Herzegovina was named. Nearby, you can also see his endowment - the Zagrađe Monastery.

From this viewpoint, you can also observe the most attractive rafting section of the Tara River, which we will descend by raft the following day.

During the ATV ride through the Tara Canyon, we overcame more than 1000 meters of elevation gain in just 3-4 kilometers of driving.

People say that in these mountains, the best kajmak (traditional Balkan dairy cream) in the world is made, along with smoked cheeses and many other local specialties - some of which you will taste during your stay at Rafting Center Drina-Tara.

Return to Rafting Center Drina-Tara is planned for around 5 PM.

NOTES

The minimum participants' number is 2, or you can join the already existing group.
The person who rides a quad must be at least 17 years old.
The person who rides an ATV quad must have a valid driving license.
The second passenger on the ATV quad must be at least 12 years old and with parents. .
We reserve the right to assess whether a person has a minimum of physical fitness for the ride.
