What is Canyoning?

Canyoning includes going through narrow stone gorges and canyons wearing neoprene suits, helmets, safety vests and special neoprene shoes. Sometimes ropes and hooks for lowering down the hardly reachable cliffs are used. We have been offering canyoning adventures for years in two unique canyons near our Rafting Center Drina Tara: Nevidio canyon and Hrcavka canyon.

Canyoning / Nevidio & Hrcavka canyon

Nevidio canyon is located near Savnik, Montenegro, about 80km away from our Rafting Center Drina Tara. Canyoning through Nevidio lasts about 2-3 hours. We leave the camp at 9 a.m. and return at 8 p.m. Nevidio canyon adventure is a well known tour and canyoning here is pretty commercialized.

TWO YEARS AGO OUR GUIDES FIRST MARKED TWO TRACKS THROUGH THE CANYON OF A LITTLE RIVER (HRCAVKA), JUST RECENTLY DISCOVERED. IT IS COMPLETELY WILD AND UNSPOILED CANYON AVAILABLE ONLY FOR OUR GUESTS.

The Hrcavka canyon is located in National park Sutjeska only 7km from our camp and it is the last discovered canyoning canyon in Europe. Still the drive to the canyon lasts about one hour due to the mountain terrain configuration. In the Hrcavka canyon you can choose two different routes. They both take 3-4 hours of effective walking through the canyon. It is more demanding and much more attractive than the Nevidio canyon according to the numerous experts for this extreme type of holiday activity.

Canyoning is pretty demanding outdoor activity which usually lasts for a few hours so we provide our guests with energy bars or other energy sweets.
