Choose a reliable and licensed rafting center

When looking for a rafting tour organizer, ask them questions and check their level of professionalism. Make sure to inquire about the type of training their guides to have. Choosing a professional organizer will ensure that rules are followed and safety is at the highest level.

Our Rafting Center Drina Tara boasts years of experience as the first registered rafting club in this area and a pioneer of sports rafting. For many years, we have been engaged in adventure tourism, and countless satisfied guests have passed through our camp. Our skippers who will guide you during rafting have grown up on these waters and are also active competitors in our club. We are the initiators and permanent organizers of the Open Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina R6 in rafting on the Ćehotina River, the World Rafting Cup on the Tara River, and other events such as rafting schools. We are also members of the Rafting Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina and have previously been members of the Rafting Kayak Canoe Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina board. We offer you accommodation in over 120 bungalows (400 beds), excellent food, and activities according to your preference.

Take appropriate equipment and adjust your clothing to the weather conditions

Before you go rafting, check the weather conditions. Some areas near the Tara and Drina rivers can be quite cold, so it's important to dress warmly to protect yourself from the cold. We mainly mean the period after the end of the rafting tour. In the mountains, temperatures can be low even in the spring and summer months, so it is advisable to bring layered clothing, waterproof jackets, raincoats, comfortable and waterproof hiking shoes, etc. For the summer months, bring sunglasses and sunscreen with a protective factor against UV radiation, as the sun's rays can be strong at high altitudes.

During the rafting itself, you will certainly be protected by neoprene clothing. After rafting, you will shower with warm water and dry off, but don't let the fact that you didn't bring warm clothing spoil your experience. There is still much more to see and experience, as well as various outdoor activities that we can organize for you.

The rafting equipment is provided by the rafting tour organizer or in our Rafting Center Drina Tara. The appropriate professional equipment will ensure that the rafting tour proceeds safely, and it includes neoprene clothing and footwear, a safety vest, a rafting helmet, and an anorak or hoodie in rainy and extremely cold weather conditions.

Since we already mentioned the safety vest, it must be properly adjusted to fulfill its function. All buckles must be fastened, and the vest should be snug against your body so that you can breathe but cannot lift it over your head. If you are not sure that you have put on the safety vest correctly, ask the guide to adjust your vest.

Caution but not fear

Rafting is an activity that can be very exciting and challenging, but that doesn't mean you need to be frightened. It is necessary to be cautious and aware of potential risks, but at the same time, be mentally prepared for the challenges that await you. It is important to have confidence in your abilities, and you will enjoy the adventure.

In rafting, team spirit and teamwork are key elements. It is necessary to carefully listen to the instructions of the skipper and act according to his/her directions in order to ensure safety and enjoyment for the entire team. It is also important to be open to collaboration with other participants and to develop trust in your group in order to overcome the challenges that this sport can bring.

Meals rich in proteins and carbohydrates

Rafting is a physically demanding activity, so it's important to provide your body with enough food and water to have sufficient energy. It's important to maintain hydration throughout the day. Before rafting, eat a meal rich in protein and carbohydrates, which we will also take care of. Food from our rich menu, made from locally grown ingredients and traditional recipes, will satisfy all tastes and appetites - meals in our camp are something all guests remember and talk about.
